From bad to excellent
I wrote a scathing review, after a bad experience at this hotel, a few years ago. How things have changed! Service is excellent, from the receptionist to maintenance and the valet service. We did not like our room and were moved to another one that we loved. We needed an extra bed in our room after 12 at night and it was no problem and delivered promptly. The breakfast was also good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the centre of Stellenbosch in a mixture of lovely modern and antique revamped rooms and experience great service.

Stayed in a very nice upstairs courtyard room. The hotel is ideally located in the middle of Stellenbosch within easy walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, bars & cafes. Added bonus is valet parking – no need to hunt for a space! Lovely welcoming staff.

Excellent hotel, we didn’t want to leave
Wonderful, modern and charming hotel in the centre of downtown Stellenbosch. Restaurants and shops all around. The rooms are spacious, modern and very comfortable bedding. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating. We were a group of friends, and originally we were going to stay in a wine state. At the last minute, we changed our minds and stayed in Town Stellenbosch. The best decision ever. The town is lively at night and it’s great to be able to walk around amongst all the restaurants etc. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. Mario at the front desk was extremely helpful and informative. If we return we will for sure stay at the Oude Werf again.

Service and Location
This hotel is very centrally located, making it the ideal base for your time in Stellenbosch. It allows you to explore the town easily on foot with several restaurants just a short walk away. The reception staff, in fact all staff, are eager to please and nothing was too much hassle for them. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and quiet. A good night’s sleep was had by all. Breakfasts are superb. This is an excellent hotel and it is where I will stay on all my future visits to Stellenbosch.
