Renowned for exceptional wines, Tokara also crafts award-winning extra-virgin olive oils. The Olive Shed and olive groves are situated on the steepest slopes of the farm, known historically as De Hel – the origin of the name of the nearby Helshoogte Pass. The olives are cold pressed on the same day they are picked. Since 2001, when just 500 bottles were produced, production has increased, but demand still frequently outstrips supply of these award-winning oils.

Extra-virgin olive oils produced by Tokara:
PREMIUM EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
A fusion of the Coratina, Leccino, Frantoio and Mission olive variants. Intense, fresh and rounded green fruit aromas on the nose with hints of apple and artichoke. The rich, cream mouth-feel is balanced by dominant fruit, tingling pepper tones and a pleasant bitterness.
MULTI VARIETAL – EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
A Blend of: FRANTOIO, LECCINO & MISSION. Medium Olive Flavour. This fusion of three varietals olive oils has a full fruit character rounded with delicate herbaceous and spicy flavours.
MISSION – EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Mild Olive Flavour. The Mission variety extra virgin olive oil is mild and gentle with finely balanced grassy, herbaceous aromas and flavours. A delicate oil and light condiment.
FRANTOIO – EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Intense Olive Flavour. The Frantoio variety oil is renowned for its robust fruitiness and full herbaceous aroma and flavour. The spiciness indicates freshness and superb quality.
LECCINO – EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Medium Olive flavour. The Leccino variety oil is renowned for subtle fruit and nut tones in aroma and flavour with a gentle herbaceous character.
